1) What does ORALIS 1 actually test for?

We analyse your complete oral microbiome looking for specific good and bad bacteria present as well as overall how diverse your microbiome is (looking at over 700 different bacteria). 

Unlike other tests on the market, we also check your saliva for certain genetic mutations that might increase your risk of: 

- Decay 

- Gum disease

- Having acidic saliva 

- A hyper inflammatory response (patients with this might react very aggressively to bacteria and be at a higher risk of gum disease and general systemic inflammation)

We are also the only test on the market that identifies certain strains of bacteria that might increase your risk of certain diseases. Unfortunately bacteria can come in lots of different strains. Some might be ok, and some might be very bad to have. We can identify these so as to reduce your levels. We also provide personalised recommendations to lower levels of bacteria and your general risk with your results.

 

How do I collect my sample?

Easy! Spit into the provided tube, close the cap and send it back in the prepaid postage bag. 

How long till I receive my test?

We aim to ship within 1-3 days of receiving your order.

How long till I get my results?

We aim to send results back within 3-4 weeks. 

What will you do with my data? 

All data once processed is anonymised. We do not sell or store any of your personal data once processed. We work with a UKAS accredited lab and follow protocols of the highest standard. Please email us at hello@thslabs.co.uk for a copy of our privacy policy.
